FIRST PIC Of One Of The MURDERED Kids In Connecticut . . . And It's A SEVEN YEAR OLD BLACK GIRL!! (Pics)

PROFILE; Adam Lanza Connecticut Elementary School Gunman

He was dark and disturbed, a deeply troubled boy from a wealthy family who unnerved his neighbors and classmates.

Mass murderer Adam Lanza, 20, was a ticking time bomb, people who knew him told the Daily News.

“This was a deeply disturbed kid,” a family insider told the Daily News. “He certainly had major issues. He was subject to outbursts from what I recall.”

Lanza, who friends and officials said suffered from Asperger’s syndrome or a personality disorder, had a tortured mind.

He was socially awkward and at times unstable, but also extraordinarily bright.

“He was smart,” the insider said. “He was like one of these real brainiac computer kind of kids.”

A “longtime” family friend said Lanza had a condition “where he couldn’t feel pain.”

“A few years ago when he was on the baseball team, everyone had to be careful that he didn’t fall because he could get hurt and not feel it,” said the friend. “Adam had a lot of mental problems.”

School nurse Sarah Cox speaks to the media after a school shooting. The mass murderer, identified by authorities as Ryan Lanza, packed a pair of weapons and blasted his teacher mom before opening fire on her students inside the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.

Lanza’s strange behavior was well-known among his well-heeled neighbors in leafy Newtown, Conn. His antics irked several residents.

“Adam Lanza has been a weird kid since we were 5 years old,” a neighbor and former classmate named Tim Dalton wrote on Twitter. “As horrible as this was, I can’t say I am surprised . . . Burn in hell, Adam.”

He was also seen as an odd figure at Newtown High School.

Even before that, Lanza walked the halls of his middle school carrying a black briefcase while most students lugged their belongings in backpacks. “That stuck out,” said Tim Lalli, 20, who graduated with Lanza in 2010. “It was different.”

Lalli said Lanza wasn’t a total outcast, but he didn’t speak much.

“Everyone just assumed he was a smart kid and that’s why he didn’t like talking to people all the time,” he said. “He hung out with the smart crowd.”

And he lived in luxury.

Lanza was living with his devoted mother, Nancy, in the family’s four-bedroom, 3,100-square-foot estate.

Nancy Lanza divorced Adam’s father, Peter, in 2008. Peter Lanza, now a vice president of taxes for GE Energy Financial Services, agreed to annual alimony payments that started at $240,000 and would have reached $298,800 in 2015.

The couple had married on June 6, 1981, in Kingston, N.H. — where Adam Lanza was born — and the divorce hit Peter Lanza hard, his lawyer said.

“He was very upset that he was getting divorced, but he didn’t want to take it out on anybody,” said attorney Gary Oberst.
He said the Lanzas were deeply devoted to their children. In fact, Peter Lanza insisted on handing over more money than his lawyer initially suggested.

“He did more than he had to with the divorce,” said Oberst. “When he came in to consult with me, I said, ‘This is what your obligation is.’ He said, ‘That’s not enough. I want to do more.’ ”

The family insider described the Lanzas as “lovely, very generous people who were very kind to each other during the divorce.”

Peter Lanza was blindsided by news of the shooting. When he drove up to his red-brick home in Stamford, Conn., Friday afternoon, a reporter was waiting outside.

“Is there something I can do for you?” Lanza asked,, according to the Connecticut Post.

When told his address had been linked to the Newtown massacre, his face dropped, he rolled up the window of his blue Mini Cooper and drove into his garage without commenting.

He had arrived home just after a group of cops left. The sight of the officers freaked out neighbor Geralyn Petrafesa.

“Around 3 p.m., I drive by and saw the police wearing vests,” said Petrafesa. “They were approaching the house. I ran home and told my kids to stay in the house. I figured it was connected with what was going on in Newtown.”

The 52-year-old Peter Lanza had only recently moved in with his new wife, Shelley Cudiner, who works in the library at the University of Connecticut.

Peter Lanza also has an academic background. He has served as an adjunct professor at Northeastern University in Boston since 1995 and has taught classes on tax partnerships at Fairfield University, according to the Connecticut Post.

Nancy Lanza, 54, whom Adam murdered inside the home the two shared, reportedly had worked at Sandy Hook Elementary School. But more recently, she was taking care of her son.

“She needed to be home with Adam,” the family insider said.

Nancy was known as a pillar of the community, while neighbors viewed her troubled son as a terror.

“My daughter went to school w/adam lanza,” a former neighbor who identified herself as Beth Israel wrote on Twitter. “We lived 6 houses away. He was troubled for sure for a long time. RIP nancy.”

Early news reports suggested Adam Lanza’s 24-year-old brother, Ryan, had launched the rampage — but Beth Israel believed otherwise.

“It has to be Adam, not Ryan,” she tweeted.

Ryan Lanza, who lives in Hoboken and works at Ernst and Young, didn’t talk about his younger brother while attending Quinnipiac University.

“I knew he had a brother, but I never knew anything more than he existed,” said a college friend.

Ryan Lanza told cops he had not been in touch with his brother since about 2010.

One family friend described Adam Lanza as a gamer who “rarely spoke.”

“He was weird,” said the friend, who asked to remain anonymous. “He was quiet.”

Lanza’s maternal grandmother, Dorothy Hanson, told a Tampa Bay Times reporter she was too shaken to speak.

“(I’m) just trying to absorb it,” said Hanson, 78, who spends winters in a modest mobile home park in Brooksville, Fla.

A friend of Hanson’s said Lanza’s elderly grandmother was “beside herself right now.”

Late Friday night, Peter Lanza’s neighbors said they wondered how he was going to cope with the news that his ex-wife was dead and his youngest son would forever be known as a murderous monster.

“This whole thing is just tragic,” said one neighbor. “I can’t image what he’s dealing with right now.”

Stop Worshiping Your Pastors - John Okafor Aka Mr Ibu

I read this piece n I'm like Who do we trust. Too many fake pastors out there n we have got no idea who is Real or Not. Lemme leave me 2 my thought....
Here is what Mr ibu wrote on his Facebook Page.

STUPIDITY is when you don’t have a bicycle and you give your last penny to your pastor to buy a jet.

MUMU is when you can’t pay your children’s school fees and yet have money to contribute to your church to build expensive schools which your children will never attend..

IDIOCY is when you refuse to take your very sick child to the hospital because your pastor said you should not do so, yet that same pastor secretly runs to USA for medical attention any time he has a
headache.

KOLO is when you see a poor beggar on the road and you refuse to give him 50 naira out of the 5000 naira in your pocket because it is your tithe money....

YOU are a zombie when you trek, dance and gallivant for 30 kilometers under the hot
sunsweating and smelling like poo during your revival program, while your pastor is inside a full
option, factory fitted air-conditioned state of the art SUV with his delectable wife slow driving along the road.

IGNORANCE is when you believe it when your
pastor tells you not to live a worldly life, yet he enjoys all the best things in the world;the fine houses, cars, jets, babes etc, while you are waiting till you get to heaven to enjoy your own....

Stop worshiping your pastors!!! Stay focused on Jesus The author and finisher of your Faith. And learn to study the word. - John Okafor (Nollywood).

Prince William's Wife, Kate, Pregnant

The most widely anticipated pregnancy since Princess Diana's in 1981 is official: Prince William's wife, Kate, is pregnant.
St James' Palace announced the pregnancy yesterday, saying that the Duchess of Cambridge - formerly known as Kate Middleton - has a severe form of morning sickness and is currently in a London hospital. William is at his wife's side.
News of the pregnancy drew congratulations from across the world, with the hashtag 'royalbaby' trending globally on Twitter.
The couple's first child will be third in line to take the throne - leapfrogging the gregarious Prince Harry and possibly setting up the first scenario in which a United Kingdom female heir could benefit from new gender rules about succession.
The palace would not say how far along the 30-year-old duchess is, only that she has not yet reached the 12-week mark. Palace officials said the duchess was hospitalised with hyperemesis gravidarum, a potentially dangerous type of morning sickness where vomiting is so severe no food or liquid can be kept down.
They said she was expected to remain hospitalised for several days and would require a period of rest afterward.
"It's not unusual for pregnant women to get morning sickness, but when it gets to the point where you're dehydrated, losing weight or vomiting so much you begin to build up (toxic) products in your blood, that's a concern," said Dr Kecia Gaither, director of maternal foetal medicine at Brookdale University and Medical Center in New York.
Common in young women
The condition is thought to affect about one in 50 pregnant women and tends to be more common in young women, women who are pregnant for the first time, those expecting multiple babies and in non-smokers.
Gaither said that fewer than one per cent of women with the condition need to be hospitalised.
Doctors aren't sure what causes it, but suspect it could be linked to hormonal changes or nutritional problems.
Women admitted to the hospital with hyperemesis gravidarum are usually treated with nutritional supplements and given fluids intravenously to treat dehydration. Dr Dagni Rajasingam, a spokeswoman for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, said most women hospitalised with the condition are discharged within several days.
"It depends on how well the woman is keeping fluids down," she said.
If the problem is recognised and treated early, doctors say there are no long-term effects for either the mother or the child. Left untreated, the mother could be at risk of developing neurological problems - including seizures - or risk delivering the baby early.
Gaither said the condition usually subsides by the second trimester.
"The rest of the pregnancy could be entirely uneventful," she said, adding that pregnant women treated for the condition are usually advised to avoid fatty foods that could aggravate the problem.
Gaither said the duchess would probably be able to meet her usual royal obligations by her second trimester.
"She should be able to meet all her public obligations soon," she said, advising her to take her vitamins and ensure there are no other underlying health problems. "She should just be looking forward to having a healthy little plump person.

Rob Kardashian Accuses Rita Ora Of Cheating On Him In Twitter Rant

In what is quickly becoming one of pop's messiest splits of the year, Rob Kardashian has appeared to blast rumoured ex-girlfriend Rita Ora for "cheating" on him with "20 dudes."

News spread early on Monday that the secretive couple had apparently split after almost a year of dating, despite never officially confirming their relationship.
While a source attributed the break-up to the difficult "long-distance," it appears there may be more to the story with reality star and sock entrepreneur Rob seemingly accusing the 'Shine Ya Light' songstress - who has had a ridiculously busy year with the launch of her career - of cheating on him with several other men.

"I'm actually disgusted a woman could give up her body to more than 20 dudes in less than a year's time while trying to start a career," Rob tweeted at the start of his rant.

"How can a woman who is so busy trying to start her own career have time to be with so many dudes all while in a relationship?

"She cheated on me with nearly 20 dudes while we were together, I wonder how many she will sleep with now that we apart. But I mean 20?!"

There is no reason to believe that Rob's claims are true, but the reality star's older sister and X Factor USA host Khloe Kardashian Odom also chimed in, seeming to back up his claims of infidelity.

"Cheaters never prosper @RobKardashian ill be home today... Try and smile little brother," Khloe tweeted, to which Rob simply replied: "I Love You."

The siblings both deleted their tweets shortly after posting them. Rita is yet to respond to the accusations.

Entertainmentwise reached out to Rita Ora's spokesperson but received "no comment."

VIDEO: Sanusi fires back at NLC over his sack

The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has lashed out on those calling for his sack over his purported statement that the federal government should reduce the work force in the country.

Speaking to Channels Television's correspondent, Chukwuma Onuekwusi, in London at the end of the 13th session of the Honorary International Investors council meeting, Mr Sanusi said that those calling for his sack "are shying away from the reality of the time".

He said he was not talking about the sack of civil servants but a reduction in the size of political appointees who take 70 percent of government revenue leaving a mere 30 percent for the 160 million Nigerians.

According to him "what Nigeria is practising is an American system of government that is very expensive".

He said that he cannot join issues with anyone calling for his sack.

Former Nigerian national basketball player killed while burglarizing.

A former member of the Nigerian national basketball team was shot and killed last week while breaking into a Plano residence, police said Wednesday.

Chinedu Onyeuku, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene on the 1500 block of Rio Grande Street. His shooter said he saw Onyeuku and another unidentified man break his glass patio door and try to enter his home. The other burglar ran away after Onyeuku was shot, police said.

Plano police spokesman David Tilley said that “multiple people” were in the residence at the time of the shooting. No one inside, including the shooter, was hurt.

According to the website Teamnigeriabasketball.com, Onyeuku was born in Lagos, but moved to the United States when he was six. He played college basketball at Illinois State University and then had a short semi-pro career, including a stop on the Arlington Bulldogs of the American Basketball Association. Plano police listed his hometown as Omaha.

A statement from the Nigeria Basketball Federation posted on the website of ChannelsTV, a Nigerian station, said Onyeuku played for the Nigerian team that qualified for the 2012 Olympics during a tournament in Venezuela. He was not on the Olympic roster, however.

“[Onyeuku's] passion for playing with D’Tigers was deep-seated and he will be greatly missed,” the statement said. “The federation joins his family and team mates to mourn a departed son, father, husband and great patriot.”

Police said the burglary and shooting is still being investigated and does not appear to be random. The incident happened around 3 a.m. on Nov. 21, but investigators waited to release details until Wednesday, saying that they needed to collect some “critical information” before it went public.

They are now asking for help finding the second burglar. No description is available, but police request that anyone with information call 972-941-2148 or 877-373-8477.

Fashola Arrests Policeman Riding Okada On Restricted Road.

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, arrested a police officer who rode his 100 CC commercial motorcycle on the Agege Motor Road, Ikeja in defiance of the traffic law.

It would be recalled that the state governor, on August 2, signed into law the road traffic law which restricted the activities of Okada operators on 475 roads in the metropolis.

The officer, Mr. Ebahan Johnson, a Police Sergeant, who was accosted on the ever busy expressroad by the governor at the Airport Bus-stop, Ikeja, during an inspection tour of on-going projects in the Lagos-West Senatorial District of the state, was riding a red Bajaj motorcycle.
Johnson, who initially resisted arrest, succu- mbed when he realised that it was the governor that accosted him.

Speaking on the arrest, Fashola said; “There is no one who would be above the law. If anyone cannot submit himself to the law of the state, then that person should please, leave the state.”

The governor warned that the state government will not condone any violation of the road traffic law which was signed into law to bring sanity into road transportation.

According to him: “There is no society where laws are not broken but the state government will increase its enforcement to ensure that residents of the state comply with the law.

“And as we move on the road if we see anyone violating the law, we will stop and arrest him.”
According to the governor, the officer in question will be handed to the Commissioner of Police, Umar Mankko for proper prosecution.

“I am sure he would be prosecuted,” he said.

UN Declares Palestine As Non-Member State

Nearly 140 countries voted in the U.N. on Thursday to recognize the Palestinian territories as a "nonmember observer state" over the strenuous objections of Israel and the U.S., marking a milestone with potentially far-reaching consequences for the decades-old Arab-Israeli conflict.

The 138-9 vote, with 41 abstentions, came on the 65th anniversary of the assembly's resolution calling for the partition of British mandate Palestine into Jewish and Arab states.

The new status, which is akin to the Vatican's own stature in the world body, marked a rare victory for the Fatah party's diplomatic path toward statehood after its rival Hamas's military strategy had taken the spotlight during the recent Gaza conflict.

Palestinians in the West Bank city of Ramallah, who were crowded around outdoor television screens during the vote in New York erupted into applause, whistles and hugs, as some people fired guns into the air and beeped car horns in celebration.

"We didn't come here seeking to delegitimize a state established years ago, and that is Israel; rather we came to affirm the legitimacy of the state that must now achieve its independence, and that is Palestine," Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Fatah-led Palestinian Authority, told the assembly to a standing ovation.

The immediate question was whether the vote spurs or further delays the resumption of talks between Israel and the Palestinians that Israel says are needed to finalize the status of the West Bank and Gaza territories.

While Mr. Abbas argued the vote would create the momentum to resume moribund talks, the U.S. and Israel denounced the vote as a "unilateral" move in the multilateral assembly.

"Today's unfortunate and counterproductive resolution places further obstacles to peace," said U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice. "No resolution can create a state where none exists."

She added, "Palestinians will wake up tomorrow and find that little has changed saved the prospect of direct talks have receded."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed the vote as an empty gesture that makes little difference for Palestinians, and makes peace prospects more remote.

"The decision at the U.N. today won't change a thing on the ground,'' he said prior to the vote. "Peace will be reached through agreements reached between Jerusalem and Ramallah, and not through declarations passed at the U.N.''

Prosecutors urge jail term for Nigerian footballer Emmanuel Emenike

Turkish prosecutors on Tuesday called for a three-year prison term for Nigerian international Emmanuel Emenike after he was implicated in a widespread match-fixing scandal.

Lawyers in Istanbul accused Emenike, who currently plays for Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League, of faking an injury to avoid playing for his then club Karabukspor against Fenerbahce in May 2011, the Anatolie news agency reported.

Emenike's agent had beforehand been approached by Fenerbahce officials to arrange the player's "injury" for the match, it was alleged.

The 25-year-old attacker's case has been tried separately from a larger trial that has rocked Turkish football and which ended in July seeing the president of Fenerbahce, Aziz Yildirim, sentenced to six years and three months in prison.

In all, 93 people were tried and a number were found guilty of having fixed matches in the Turkish first and second divisions in the 2010-11 season, as wellas for malpractice.

Emenike joined Fenerbahce in 2011 but did not make a first team appearance for the club before he was transferred to Spartak.

Rafael Benitez replaces Roberto Di Matteo as Chelsea manager

Chelsea have appointed former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez as interim manager until the end of the season.
He replaces Roberto Di Matteo, who was sacked on Wednesday following a 3-0 Champions League defeat by Juventus.
Benitez, 52, becomes Chelsea's ninth manager since Roman Abramovich became owner in 2003.
But his short-term appointment could pave the way for Abramovich to make a summer approach for ex-Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.
A Chelsea statement said: "The owner and the board believe that in Benitez we have a manager with significant experience at the highest level of football, who can come in and immediately help deliver our objectives.
"The two-time Uefa Manager of the Year comes with outstanding pedigree."
Benitez joined Liverpool from Valencia in 2004 and won the Champions League in 2005, as well as reaching the final in 2007, before leaving Anfield by mutual consent in 2010.
He has been out of work since he was sacked by Inter Milan in December 2010. He spent just six months in charge of the Serie A club despite winning two titles - the Club World Cup and Italian Super Cup.
The Spaniard is due to meet the Chelsea players at the club's training ground in Cobham on Thursday. His first match in charge is Sunday's visit of Premier League leaders and reigning champions Manchester City.
Before his appointment was confirmed, Benitez admitted his interest in the job to Abu Dhabi-based website Sport 360.
"I am looking for a club that can challenge for trophies and Chelsea is one of these clubs," he said.
When he was asked about the prospect of managing on a short-term basis, he added: "I am just trying to go to a team that can win. So we will find ways to have a challenge like this."

Chelsea sack Roberto Di Matteo

Chelsea have sacked Roberto Di Matteo following their 3-0 defeat to Juventus on Tuesday evening which has put the club's prospects of qualifying for the Champions League knockout stage in doubt.

The Blues needed a positive result in Turin to maintain strong hopes of defending their European crown, but Antonio Conte's side destroyed the Premier League club to leave their chances in ruins.

And with their Premier League form slipping after a bright start, owner Roman Abramovich has decided to sack the manager, with the club revealing: "Results have not been good enough."

A statement on Chelsea's official website read: "Chelsea Football Club has parted company this morning with Manager Roberto Di Matteo.

"The team's recent performances and results have not been good enough and the owner and the Board felt that a change was necessary now to keep the club moving in the right direction as we head into a vitally important part of the season.

"The club faces a difficult task ahead in qualifying for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League as well as maintaining a strong challenge for the top of the Premier League while competing in three other cup competitions. Our aim is to remain as competitive as possible and challenge strongly on all fronts."

Despite winning the Champions League and FA Cup after taking over from Andre Villas-Boas in March of the 2011-12 season, Di Matteo is the latest in a long list of managers who have failed to appease owner Abramovich.

The club face a season-defining period over the coming weeks, with a clash against Premier League champions Manchester City on 25 November followed by the must-win game against Nordsjaelland on 5 December.

The statement continued: "The owner and the Board would like to thank Roberto for all he has done for the club since taking over in March. Roberto helped guide us to an historic Champions League victory and a seventh FA Cup. We will never forget the huge contribution he has made to this club's history and he will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge.

"The club will be making an announcement shortly regarding a new first team manager."

PHOTO... Pop Singers Jason DeRulo And Jordin Sparks Start MAKING OUT On The Red Carpet!!

Love was in the air at the 2012 American Music Awards.
Jordin Sparks, 22, and her beau Jason Derulo, 23, shared some sweet PDA on the red carpet last night (Nov. 18), kissing for the cameras as they made their way into the show. One of music's cutest couples was all smiles as they posed for photographs, cozying up together after a year of dating.
The pair hasn't had the easiest of years. Not only did Whitney Houston's death take a toll on Sparks, who co-starred with the legend in "Sparkle," but Derulo broke his neck while practicing choreography for his tour in January, fracturing one of his vertebra.
But if there's one thing the lovebirds have taken away from the last few months, it's to cherish the ones you have in your life. That's why Sparks thinks she and Derulo may make it official.
"Before [the tragedies] it might have been a little too crazy," Sparks told Us Weekly of marriage last month, adding, "You really see the people you love and you go, I don't want to lose you. So, it's a conversation we have, but we're not in a rush."
Still, Sparks would be thrilled if Derulo popped the question.
"I hope he does!" she exclaimed. "It's not happening yet, but I hope so!

Daily Trust Newspaper Reports That 529 ABU Students Use One Toilet

The average ratio of toilet to users in most public universities is 1:20, but Nigeria’s premier Northern University, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, breaks the record with an all time high of an average of 529 students using one toilet.

Graphic details of how the university, now celebrating 50 years of existence, has fallen from grace to grass is contained in a report which took a comprehensive inventory of facilities and assessment of the general condition of 61 public universities.
The Needs Assessment report put together by an 11-man committee headed by former Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) with former President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as member, says the state of facilities and resources at ABU need “urgent attention.”

These record holding toilets are located at the Asma’u Mustapha Hostel, initially meant to accommodate 312 students but now has 3,178 students residing in it. With only six toilets at the disposal of these students, an average of 529 students use one toilet daily.

“The state of toilets in the university is of grave concern. The toilets are grossly inadequate. On the average, over 40 students share a toilet,” says the report.

But it isn’t only the toilets that need urgent attention, its learning resources were described as ‘obsolete and non-functional’ so much that, it’s two programmes- Architecture and Engineering, which earned it a revered reputation, now only have infrastructure and learning resources that are in a ‘parlous state’.

The university barely has interactive boards, public address systems, computers, magnetic boards, projectors, video-needful resources required to make teaching and learning easy.

As for the capacity of its 1,815 teaching staff, 42% have PhDs, 36% with Masters and 22% have first degrees.

This commendable quality of teaching staff is quite the opposite at a very young university within the same state, Kaduna State University, only eight years old. KASU is bottom heavy with Lecturers I to Graduate Assistants constituting 88% of the staff strength, only 1% are Professors, 5% Readers and 6% Senior Lecturers. Only 14% of full time staff are PhD staff, the rest are either Masters or 1st degree holders.

The university’s inability to attract high degree staff might not be unconnected to the stumpy release of its total allocation. Though N4 billion was allocated from 2009 to 2011, only 17% was released which is about N700 million.

The crisis of dilapidated hostels resurfaces at the Kano State University of Science and Technology Wudil. Established in 2001, the university inherited a large majority of its physical facilities from Teachers College, most of which are as old as 54years.

It’s only hostel “is improvised and very unfit for human habitation. It is ramshackle and massively overcrowded with looming risk to health and safety,” says the report.

KSUT has only one professor, no reader and 151 of its 165 full time lecturers are between the ranks of Graduate Assistant to Lecturer 1. Laboratory space is inadequate. 2 theatres constructed by TETFund in 2010 are the only excellent facilities.

Again, state government funding is nearly non-existent as only 6.5% of the N1.9bn allocated as capital grant from 2009 to 2011 was released.

Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto has a total of 16 abandoned projects. Most of the equipment in the laboratories and machineries in the workshops are obsolete. The university has not commenced any form of automation in any of its libraries.

One irregularity noted by the report is that the Vice-chancellor’s office has the highest number of non-teaching staff- 390 out of 1,822.

In Kogi State university, every on-going project is being funded by TETFund and all abandoned projects in the university are those of the state government. 23 buildings are in a state of rapid deterioration and need urgent attention.

Generally, there is an average of four abandoned projects per university in Nigeria. Most of the abandoned projects are funded from capital allocations and are mainly students’ accommodation and lecture theatres.

The report accused university managers of expending huge resources in erecting university gates, wall fencing, and Vice Chancellor’s lodge, purchase of exotic cars while their libraries are still under construction, lecture rooms overcrowded and laboratories are bereft of basic facilities.

It is perhaps for these gross inadequacies, it recommended that federal government stop establishing new universities but rather concentrate on improving and expanding facilities of existing ones.

Proliferation of universities, the report says, has not improved access or assured quality.

Robert Deniro Gets mad at Jay Z in Hollywood Party

According to Page Six, actor Robert DeNiro went off on Jay Z at a party, calling him rude and disrespectful, because Jay Z refused to return his calls...

From Page Six

Robert De Niro and Jay-Z got into a tense beef at Leonardo DiCaprio’s birthday bash the other night, when De Niro called the rapper disrespectful, Page Six can exclusively reveal.

Spies say “Godfather II” and “Taxi Driver” star De Niro gave Jay a dressing-down in a roomful of celebs including Martin Scorsese because the rap mogul had refused to return De Niro’s calls.

Sources add that Jay tried to joke his way out of the situation, and even his wife, Beyoncé, tried to intervene, but De Niro wouldn’t back down.

“Bob was sitting at a table, and when Jay-Z went over to say hello, De Niro told Jay that he never called him back,” a source says.

A spy then overheard De Niro complaining to the rapper, a fellow TriBeCa resident, about a song Jay-Z agreed to record for the Tribeca Film Festival. De Niro had reached out to discuss further details, but Jay never returned his calls.

“Bob wasn’t in any mood to make polite conversation,” the spy says. “He told Jay that if somebody calls you six times, you call them back. It doesn’t matter who you are, that is just rude.”

When Jay-Z tried to make a joke of it, saying he is terrible on the phone, a source says, “De Niro kept telling him that he thinks he’s the man, but that he was disrespectful.’ ”

“Beyoncé came over, but that didn’t calm Bob down,” the source said, adding that afterward, “It was the talk of the party.

Ameobi shines As Super Eagles wallop Venezuela

he Super Eagles got their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations off to an impressive start with a 3-1 victory over Venezuela in Miami, Florida Thursday morning.

Dynamo Kyiv striker Brown Ideye got Nigeria on the way to victory four minutes after the break when he latched on to a Solomon Kwanbe cross after good work from the outstanding Betis midfielder Nosa Igiebor.

Before the goal, Ideye’s combination with the returning Obafemi Martins gave the Venezuela defence problems, while Igiebor was pulling the strings in midfield.

Although the South Americans were giving as good as they were getting and came close to scoring, it was Nigeria who doubled their lead in the 53rd minute when Igiebor unleashed a spectacular 30-yard shot that stunned the Venezuelans.

Venezuela fought back gamely and got the reward their industry deserved when they pulled one back with 20 minutes left on the clock.

The goal made for a nervy finale and Venezuela pressed on for the equalizer, but it was Nigeria who got the back-breaking third goal when brilliant hold-up play from the debuting Shola Ameobi set up Ogeyi Onazi to rifle home from close range.

Dr Sid Attacks Website For Giving D’Prince’s Frenzy Album A 3/5 Rating

Apparently Dr Sid was taking on TheNetng after the webside pusblish it Review of D'prince's frenzy Album. Rating it 3/5

TheNetng was the website that had first publicised Dr Sid's chat with Davido where he lashed out about D'Banj suppressing them under Mo'Hits.

Here are excerpts from TheNetng's review that infuriated Dr. Sid.

Just as he sang about a certain girl called ‘Amina’ on a track of the same name, Frenzy is flashy but lacks substance.
D’Prince has never paraded himself as a ‘deep’ or ‘conscious’ artiste, so don’t expect depth on this album.
What you will get from him are mostly party tracks.
‘Bad Girl’ the album’s opener experiments with country music and rock. The result isn’t that great, as D’Prince sings “I dey pop, I am not a pauper, drinks flying in the air like a chopper.
More cringe worthy lines pop up on ‘Shower’ when D’Prince actually says ‘my money wey dey ooze like chuku chuku’.
On ‘No More Sleeping On ‘Em’ where Wizkid awkwardly boasts of having a 9mm gun like David Banner, D’Prince drops another wack line when he sings ‘I don grow o, I chop Don Jazzy fertilizer. It’s not something that you find in your Tantalizer’.
When a superhero is in trouble, his superhero friends come in and rescue him. Fellow Mavins, Wande Coal and Tiwa Savage save the latter end of the LP with their feature on ‘Ojoro’ and ‘Ife’ respectively.
They help salvage the album as lackluster songs (Chant, Thank You) threaten to drown it.
Frenzy partially lives up to its name, as it boats of songs that fuel your party rage.
It just doesn’t take you through the whole night as it runs out of ideas and gets low on creative fuel.

You may have one hell of a ride bumping this album, but you’ll be left with a nasty hangover the morning after, wondering where the plot was lost.
Rating- 3/5

JTF Kill 30 Civilians In Maiduguri In Reprisal Attacks

OPERATIVES of the Joint Task Force, made up of soldiers, on Monday went haywire in Maiduguri, Borno State, and killed 30 persons in reprisal for the attack on their patrol vehicle in the town. Most of the victims, The PUNCH learnt, were civilians. The soldiers were also said to have burnt at least 50 houses, shops and vehicles in the Gwange area of the town. Some of the victims were reportedly burnt inside their houses beyond recognition. An Improvised Explosive Device believed to have been planted by member of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, hit the JTF vehicle in the early hours of Monday and killed the leader of the patrol team, an unnamed Lieutenant and injured other members of the patrol team. The incident occurred along the popular Lagos Street in the Borno State capital town. Maiduguri is believed to be the base of Boko Haram In retaliation, tens of soldiers were said to have stormed the street and shot indiscriminately at the residents and motorists on the busy road leading to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. The PUNCH learnt on Tuesday that some of the dead victims were killed inside their houses while their corpses were set on fire by the angry soldiers. About 50 vehicles parked along the street and in front of houses were also set ablaze. Maiduguri witnessed a similar incident last Sunday when soldiers reportedly killed and indiscriminately set properties on fire to avenge the murder of two soldiers, one of them a Lt.Col. Reports indicated that some members of Boko Haram died in the soldiers’ rage on Monday but no one could give a specific figure even as the area was cordoned off. An eyewitness told journalists that more than 50 persons, including some suspected terrorists were killed, while hundreds of houses and shops belonging to residents of Gwange were razed down in the incident. During a visit to the area at about 3pm, the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha, said the government would address the situation when the governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, who was on a foreign trip to India, Pakistan and Turkey returned home. The Deputy Governor appealed to Boko Haram members to lay down their arms for peace to prevail. He added that anytime the sect struck, the innocent always bore the brunt of retaliatory attacks. Confirming the incident, the JTF Spokesman, Lt. Colonel Sagir Musa, in a text message sent to journalists in Maiduguri said that members of the some Boko Haram sect detonated an IED on a Hilux Patrol vehicle of the JTF, injuring two soldiers aboard the vehicle.

Saudi Agrees To Accept Deported Pilgrims With Valid Visa

The leader of the presidential committee to Saudi Arabia, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal on Monday said the Saudi authorities have agreed to accept deported pilgrims that have valid visas. The speaker was speaking with journalists at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe international airport when the presidential committee to that had travelled to Saudi Arabia on Sunday returned to Nigeria. “The first good news is that all of those pilgrims, who have secured valid visas, are being taken back and the understanding we have secured so far with them is that they will be allowed entry into Saudi Arabia,” the Speaker said. “The second success story is that we’ve reinforced the beautiful, long standing relationship between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia and assurances have been given to that effect,” he added. According to Mr Tambuwal, the Saudi authorities is also considering Nigeria’s request of extending the airlifting deadline to accommodate the deported pilgrims. “Also if need be we’ve requested for them to extend the time of airlift and also the time of issuance of visas to Nigerian pilgrims,” he said. About 100,000 pilgrims were expected to perform the hajj from Nigeria this year, but the transportation had barely commenced when the first batch of 171 female intending pilgrims was deported after been detained by Saudi authorities at entry point. More women were subsequently deported, for the same reason of not having male guardians or Muharams to accompany them, in accordance with Saudi laws. “Ofcourse, under the Islamic jurisprudence, Muharam is a requirement,” Mr Tambuwal said. He however said that there are different categories of Muharams and that different Islamic schools of thoughts – the Hanbali, Hanafi, Shafi’I and Maliki have their separate definition of the concept. “We’ve passed across that message to them and we believe they understand and reason with us that here in Nigeria, the predominant Islamic school of jurisprudence is Maliki School of thoughts, which allows for a group Muharam,” the Speaker said.
