CAN 2012 qualifier: 50m naira cash incentive for Nigeria to beat Guinea

2012 Africa Cup of Nations - Nigeria's Super Eagles
will be 50 million naira (US$312,500) richer if they
beat Guinea on Saturday and qualify for the 2012
Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Gabon and
Equatorial Guinea. This is because the official beverage of the team, Pepsi, has promised to give the team the amount if it wins and qualifies, the local media reported Friday. A victory is not just enough, as Nigeria must either beat the Guineans 1-0 or by a wider margin if the visitors score in the match, to be played in the capital city of Abuja, to be sure of automatic qualification. Guinea currently leads Nigeria's group with 13
points, three more than Nigeria, and a better goal
difference. Meanwhile, the official candy of the team, Tom Tom, has also offered US$3,000 for the Most Valuable Player in the match, while the official electronics of the team, Samsung, has also offered US$3,000 for the Man of the Match.
